What is Shurpa?

Shurpa is the evening package delivery service for people who don’t have a doorman. Use our address as your shipping address whenever you buy something online. We’ll send you a photo of each package as it arrives, and you can schedule delivery with a simple text message. Then one of our drivers will hand-deliver the package to your front door when you’re actually home.

How does it work?

When you sign up for an account, you will be issued a 6-character unique shipping code. Whenever you order something online, ship your purchases to our address using your last name plus your customer code in address line one, as follows:

Once we receive your packages at Shurpa HQ, we’ll send you an automated text message with a photo of your deliveries. You can respond with a single letter to schedule delivery with our system, and receive an immediate confirmation. Then we’ll deliver your packages in the one-hour window you select that evening.

Can I ship anything to Shurpa?

Well, almost anything. Currently, any package larger than 24” on any side or heavier than 30 lbs are considered oversize, and subject to a $10 delivery up-charge. Packages larger than 32” or heavier than 50 lbs will be subject to a $20 delivery up-charge. You may always elect to pick up your oversize packages in-store for just $5.

We don’t like to receive perishable goods, unless you can be sure to arrange delivery the same day (as we have no ability to refrigerate deliveries). So ship those frozen pizzas or tamales from home on your own risk.

Shurpa practices strict screening procedures to identify contraband in packages, and will cooperate fully with law enforcement in the investigation of such shipments.

What if I go on vacation?

No problem! Enjoy yourself, we’ll be here to sign for all your packages and store them up to 30 days, after which we charge a $1 per day holding fee.

Do you accept US Mail?

In general, you should have all business, legal, banking, and personal correspondence sent to your home address.

Can I pick up my package?

Of course! We are open from 9 am to 7 pm Monday through Saturday, and it’s just $1 per package when you pick up at Shurpa HQ — 2727 N Halsted St. in Lincoln Park.

I buy literally EVERYTHING online. Do you offer memberships?

Welcome home, Amazon addict, you’re among friends here. We offer unlimited package delivery for just $19 a month. Oversize delivery fees still apply. Just visit your dashboard, go to “payment details” and select the monthly option. Your card will be charged each month, and you can opt-out at any time.

We’re getting married! Do you work with wedding registries?

Absolutely! (And congratulations!!) We are happy to set up a special address just for your gifts, ie:

E-mail us at Weddings@ShurpaDelivery.com and we’ll set you up with a custom address. We will alert you as packages arrive, and are happy to deliver them as they come, or bundle them into one large delivery — whichever is easier. And we’ll be watching for any stragglers while you’re on honeymoon!

Do you offer wine receiving?

Absolutely! We must ask for ID when releasing the wine upon delivery, and generally a $10 oversize delivery fee applies to full cases. We have safely received and delivered dozens of cases of wine to happy customers, so ship away!

I need to return an online purchase, can you help me?

No problem! Just text #return to 312.313.4449 and we’ll set up a one-hour window for pickup, just like having a package delivered via Shurpa. Returns are just $4 for the first package, and $1 for each additional package in the same pickup — same as delivery!

How do I know my package is safe?

When you ship to Shurpa, your packages are delivered to a dedicated receiving facility where someone is always around to sign for your stuff. We take security seriously — with a commercial alarm system and the best deadbolts money can buy (we’re not joking). Beyond that, every package you ship to Shurpa is insured for up to $1,000 — from the time it arrives at HQ until it’s delivered safely into your hands.

How do I pay? Should I tip?

You can store your payment information with us by visiting your dashboard and selecting “edit payment details.” You can select a membership including unlimited deliveries for $19 per month, or pay per delivery — it’s $4 for the first package delivered, and $1 for each additional package in the same delivery, no tipping required!

Who delivers my packages?

Shurpa uses a dedicated team of drivers to get your packages delivered on time. They’re not taking Uber runs or delivering pizzas in between package runs. They use our proprietary mobile app for package delivery, and live for last-mile package logistics.
